DEFECTION: finally, Saraki Opens up on Dumping APC, Admits Chances are “very, very high”



Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki has admitted that he will soon leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Saraki made this remark while speaking to Reuters.

When asked about leaving the ruling party, he admitted that “the chances are very, very high”.

This comes after the Senate President oversaw Tuesday’s plenary session, that witnessed 15 Senator defect from the APC.

Meanwhile, Senators Lanre Tejuoso(Ogun Central) and Adesoji Akanbi from Oyo South who were reported to have joined the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday are back in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The two Senators who attended meeting with President Buhari in the late Wednesday night in the presidential villa.

Senators that joined the PDP are:

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano);

Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara);

Shaba Lafiagi (Kwara);

Bayero Nafada (Gombe);

Ubale Shittu (Jigawa);

Dino Melaye (Kogi);

Abdullahi Danbaba (Sokoto);

Isa Hamma Misau (Bauchi);

Suleiman Nazif (Bauchi);

Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna);

Barnabas Gemade (Benue) and

Lanre Tejuoso (Ogun).

Monsurat Sumonu (Oyo) and Abdulaziz Nyako (Adamawa) opted for the ADC.

With this, the APC has slim majority with 53 Senators, while the PDP has 50.
