‘Our Plan Was To Kidnap Our Boss And Demand For N60 Million’ – Employee

Two employees of an oil and Gas company AguIzu Chukwu, 19, and Tunde Olaewo, 21, in Ejigbo area of Lagos were reportedly arrested on Monday, while finalising plans to kidnap their boss, in Ejigbo area of Lagos.

The suspects during interrogation, revealed that they planned abducting their boss when he would be driving home after work, today and thereafter, demand for N60 million ransom for his release.

Parading the suspects before journalists Thursday at the command’s headquarters, Ikeja, alongside other robbery suspects, the Command boss, Muazu Subaru, said ” they were arrested based on credible intelligence received that some newly employed staff of one Solomon Otungo, an Oil and gas merchant, of Bucknor area of Ejigbo, Lagos, were holding nocturnal meetings on how they would kidnap and keep their employer incommunicado until a ransom of 60 million Naira is paid.

“Based on the information, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ejigbo Police Station, CSP Okuwobi Olabisi, swiftly mobilized police detectives and stormed the venue of the meeting where the following employees, Agu Izuchukwu, 19 years of age and Tunde Olaewo ‘m’ 21 years were promptly rounded up and brought to the station.

“The confessional statements of the suspects, led to the arrest of one Sunday Nwankwo, in Isolo area of Lagos State”.

During interrogation, Olaewo said, ” our plan was to kidnap him and demand for N60 million.

We invited someone who would hold him hostage until ransom would be paid. If it had worked out, we would have shared the amount equally.

” I intended to travel out of the country if the plan had worked”. The suspects according to the CP, would be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
